Photography has been a passion of mine for decades. I am so grateful for the new technology of a small camera that can outdo many of the features on my large camera, and it's lightweight. I began with slides, and I still marvel at the ease of the digital world. Digital allows you to experiment with many different shots, and the cost is free, and the wait time until you see your photos is practically nill! If you're not sure if you should take that photo or not, my answer is - take it!
Most of my photos are taken on the North Fork of Long Island, where I live. My wonderful parents taught me the beauty of nature. They taught me to see the beauty of the pattern in a leaf, the wonder of bugs and birds, the beautiful skies, and so on. I grew up on a farm, and without a television, (and no computers), so I learned how to be observant and creative at a young age. Another hobby of mine is raising Cecropia moths. They are a silkworm moth with a wingspan of 5" - 6", and they are native to Long Island .... and they're beautiful. As well as photography, I'm a graphic artist.
